1 Year

September 23rd, 2011, husband and I said "I do."

September 23rd, 2012, husband and I celebrate.

Part of me feels like we have been together forever and that what we have now is what has always been.  The other half of me can't believe we have gone through all four seasons as husband and wife!

It has been such an amazing adventure.

We moved to the Central Coast.

Found jobs.

Left jobs.

Found a church that we love and feel invested in and challenged.

Made some amazing and lifelong friends.

Husband was so gracious and allowed me to leave for almost a month for a trip of a lifetime.

We went on a honeymoon trip, work trips, graduation trips, birthday party trips, and so many more.

How can we not be thankful?

I have grown so much since becoming a wife.  Having a husband that is patient and kind and always loving has been a huge blessing in this growing process.

I finally started learning how to cook.

I found a new passion for homemaking.

But since saying, "I do," we began the journey in learning more about God's grace and love for us.  Seeing our relationship grow and strive through hard times and good times is something that doesn't happen with every relationship.  It happens with those that we work hard for, invest time and energy in, and truly care about.

That is how God cares for his children.  Just as I was Bart's bride one year ago today, we are the bride of Christ, and being able to understand that deeper through my husband?  That is beautiful.

Thank you, Bartholomew, for being the man that God has intended you to be.  For letting me be myself and laughing with me.  Thank you for locking the door at night and for working so hard at your job, for doing the dishes after I make dinner and for kissing me and telling me that you love me every morning before you leave for work.  Thank you for understanding who I am, and for striving to learn more about me.  Thanks for being my best friend and biggest advocate in all situations.  Thank you for not letting our happiness depend on life's circumstances.  I love you.

Happy first wedding anniversary, husband...I'm excited for many more to come. :)
