This is husband.
Fun fact: He spent two years in Ecuador.
Is this not the cutest picture you have ever seen? He said he had a hard time leaving the kids there.
...at camp with one of my cabins back in the day. I had a hard time saying goodbye to them, too.
It's no secret we love kids. We get attached. We want a big family.
In 5th grade, I decided I wanted to adopt someday, so when I met husband and he said he wanted to adopt? He went up like five notches on the hottness scale.
Now that we're married, of course, we talk about having a family more often. It's something that used to seem so far away, but now seems so much closer than I had realized.
And adoption. Now is when we chat about it in a not-so-future-more-like-now kinda way. We haven't started the process yet, but it may be soon. It takes sooooo long to get some of those adorable kiddos and I want them to have a home. Like yesterday. And I want to be a mama to them.
In the mix of all of the craziness of starting married life together, this topic may be the one that is heaviest on our hearts...
This is day 10 of the series "31 Days on becoming a new wife." I hope you'll journey with me as I reflect on my first year as a Mrs! Click on the button to see a list of the rest of the posts.

Hey Cassie!
ReplyDeleteThis is a topic very close to Ben's and my hearts too! I've just recently started researching more and bought a book. Yay! I'm definitely not an expert, but let me know if you ever want to compare notes :)
You've got a big heart if you both consider adopting a child. Respect!
ReplyDeleteOh my friends, your hearts are so wonderful! Praying for you as you begin/discuss this new journey!
