...On Girl/Boy Time.

Sometimes the best thing for our marriage is to spend time apart from each other, and with our friends.

We need times for husband to go play disc golf with the guys and for me to spend time at a coffee shop catching up with the girls.

Time with friends can sometimes be just the encouragement we need.  I know I'm a better wife after spending time with my girls and I can tell he is a better husband after time spent with his buddies.

As much as I respect husband's opinion, tell him everything because he's my best friend, and enjoy talking with him, there are just some things I need to talk to a girlfriend about.  I know the same goes for husband with his guys, too.

I think God created us this way on purpose.  We were made to live in community and that makes it a need to spend time with other people.  My girlfriends are sometimes my biggest inspiration to love my husband better.  They encourage me to be a better wife and I know I am loved by them.  They are a huge blessing to not only me, but to my marriage as well.

The times apart from each other and spent with friends make the times together more valuable.

We are so grateful for the friends that have been placed in our lives.

This is day 15 of the series "31 Days on becoming a new wife."  I hope you'll journey with me as I reflect on my first year as a Mrs!  Click on the button to see a list of the rest of the posts.
