Tasty Tuesday {Pineapple + Kale Smoothie}


They've become my new must-have in the mornings.  I love starting off my day with a delicious smoothie with tons of fruits and veggies that make me feel great all day long.  Some people like to make their "green" smoothies with only greens so that it actually looks green, but I'd rather add some fruit to sweeten it up to make it taste better.  I'm not a purest and I'm totally ok with that. 

I usually make smoothies with whatever we have.  I always make sure to have some frozen fruit on hand and then I just throw in whatever else.  Lately, this recipe has been my favorite.  I think it might be the pineapple, which is why it gets the credit in the name; I feel like it deserves it.  But either way, this smoothie is a new fave, so I'm going to share it.

I don't really have measurements, it just sort of depends on how much you want to make and how much your blender can handle.  I have a Blendtec which I absolutely love and swear by (that might even be an understatement).  It can handle ANYTHING.  Seriously, it can even blend an iPhone...

Add to blender in order of listed ingredients:

4 oz or so of 100% Carrot Juice (Or you can use carrots, I just like to buy this from Costco)
2 oz or so of 100% Pom Juice (This is really strong, so just a little for flavor
1 apple
1 banana
A handful of frozen blueberries
A handful of frozen pineapple
A couple tablespoons of flaxseed (whole or ground)
A giant handful of kale (any type of kale, but for more vitamins, use dino kale)

Blend. :)

*If your blender requires more liquid, you can always add water.  Or if you want more kick, add Orange Juice!
