Party Time {Birthday Waffle Bar}

My mom was always the cook growing up.  She made so many delicious meals and always made sure we were well fed.  However, sometimes, my dad had to step up to the plate and cook dinner and when he did, it was always waffles.  But of course we were stoked to have breakfast for dinner, so it was a fabulous tradition that we looked forward to.

For my mom's birthday a few weeks ago, we knew we didn't want her to cook, so we thought it would be a great idea for my dad to take over and make the waffles again.  It had been so long!  My sister thought we should do a waffle bar and after finding this on the internet, we made it super fun!  Thanks to my dad and sisters who all contributed to make this party fabulous!

Enjoy this really easy and simple waffle bar birthday party.

Just follow the directions...

So fun, right?  I just used some packaging paper I had on hand and taped it to the island in the kitchen for the buffet.

We also had a little drink bar with Starbucks because that's a must with my mom.  I used an old thrift store tray that I painted with chalkboard paint for a sign.  We also decided that with 9 grandkids, she is officially "Gramma" in everything.  No more "Happy Birthday, Mom" signs anymore...all Gramma.  I love it!  Hopefully one day I'll have some little ones that are fortunate enough to have my mom as their Gramma.

We had a little extra paper, so we made a place mat that everyone could sign for her.

If you're wondering, the answer is no, we didn't make her eat all of that concoction husband and I put together for her.  Although, she did say she was willing to attempt.  It's her birthday, she can do whatever she wants!

That hair!

Then the kids had art time...totally unrelated...but adorable, so I added it. :)

Happy (Belated) Birthday, Mom!  We love you!

For those of you who want to know everything we used in the waffle bar without scrolling through the pictures, here's the list.  But, of course, you can use whatever you want.  And don't worry about being healthy with this...it's good to indulge sometimes!

Waffle Bar:

Waffles (duh) - It's nice to have Gluten-free waffles as well
Spreads - Butter, jam, nutella, peanut butter
Fruit - Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, bananas (blueberries would be great, too!)
Toppings - Sprinkles, homemade whipped cream, chocolate chips, powdered sugar
Syrups - Maple syrup, homemade chocolate sauce
