Gender Reveal {Baby G!}

Results are in folks, and we are so excited to announce that we're having a boy!

I can't tell you how excited this makes us.  We really wanted a boy first (although, of course we would have been happy with a girl, too!) and even more exciting is that this little baby gets to be referred to as a HE!  It's such a huge place to be in where we can finally start seriously thinking of names and other details such as nursery themes and all of those super cute boy clothes!  If this boy looks anything like husband, he's going to be pretty darn handsome!

We did do a little gender reveal with family.  After our doctor found out the gender, he wrote it on a piece of paper and folded it into a crane.  He did claim that the blue paper had nothing to do with the results, but now that we know it's a boy...it ended up fitting perfectly.

At the time, I hadn't decided what I wanted to do for a gender reveal, but I did send this picture to my mom and sisters saying: "The gender of our baby is in this crane!"  I was eager to find out, but I felt like I could at least wait until the weekend to think of some fun reveal to do.  However, I immediately got tons of texts back saying that I had to do it that night, my sister was starting to bake a cake and would need that crane soon in order to add the correct color food dye, and that my mom was making dinner for everyone to come over and witness the reveal.  Well, that makes it easy!  And once I found out I would know in just a couple of hours, I immediately started to freak out.  I couldn't believe we would know that night!

My super awesome sister made this adorable cake and brought it over that night.

During dinner, we took a survey of everyone's guesses...

Boy:  9
Girl:  9

It was perfectly even!  Husband and I both guessed boy.  He says he knew it was a boy...I had no idea, so I just decided to be on "his team" and guess boy with him.

It was so much fun and an awesome memory we will have of our little guy.

Special shout out and HUGE thank you to my sister, Kelly, for making the cake in a pinch!  It was delicious and stinkin' adorable and the perfect way for us to find out the gender of our first born.

We can't wait to meet our little dude!
