I talk about my parents quite a bit on this little space of mine and that's because I just can't help it. They are incredible human beings and it's really hard not to brag about them.
Mother's Day is always a day that I reflect on all that my mom has done for me and what an amazing woman, wife, and mother she is. I feel like the older I get, the more I see her sacrifices and generous heart and am humbled by the fact that I get to call her my mom. This year, as the name 'mom' became even more personal to me, I feel like her radiance and beauty was revealed to me even more...I can't imagine what it's going to be like next year when I've experienced caring for a babe...or years after that when it's a toddler, a preteen, or a TEENAGER (yikes). Thank the Lord for moms, am I right?
She caught up to my dad and turned 60 a few weeks ago. Since she loves to cook, we did a family cooking class together and learned all about Thai cuisine. The place we went to was not anything to brag about, but the food was delicious and we had a ton of fun because when we're all together, it's hard not to. :)
Mama - thanks for being a source of comfort, a place to vent, and a place to rejoice with, for teaching, training, and leading by example, and for always, always, always choosing others over yourself because that is what has truly been the best example of the Christlike servant you are. If I can only learn to love my boy an ounce of what you gave to all 7 of us kids and now to our spouses and children, then I know he will be loved beyond what he can comprehend. I love you, Mom! And happy (belated) birthday!
oh how fun!!
