Better Late Than Never... {4th of July}

This post is SO late, and therefore going to be photo heavy and content light.

We took the entire week of the 4th of July off this year and spent it at the lake.

IT. WAS. GLORIOUS.

Most of my family was there, some people only joined for a couple days, but there was always lots of people to relax, play, and eat with all week.  This is definitely something husband and I want to do every year.  We absolutely loved it - my family was made for the lake life!  The only bummer of the week was my brother was not able to come home from Japan because he was really sick, so we spent lots of time FaceTiming him and pretending he was actually with us.

Highlights included:

Watching fireworks by boat in the middle of the lake
Fresh cinnamon rolls the morning of the 4th
Watching everyone ski/wakeboard/tube/knee board
Floating in the lake with my (then) preggo sisters
Devouring the delicious dinners each family took charge of each night
Spending one afternoon down at the river
Taking Benny on the boat
Celebrating my sister and her husband's first anniversary by eating their wedding cake
Celebrating my older sister's birthday with another cake
Naps on the couch in the air conditioned house
Watching the sunrise and the sunset on the deck
Getting to see thunder and lightening (it's been so long!)
Seeing the kids' performance of the Armor of God, courtesy of Gramma
Stand Up Paddle Boarding
Dessert Every Night

My family is awesome and crazy and I love them to death.

Can't wait for next year!  I'll be chasing around a 10-month-old by then...CRAZY.
