{Date Night Last Night}

It was my husband's turn for date night.  We have been pretty busy the past week so a simple date was definitely on our minds.

Our friends, this wonderful family with three amazing younger girls (the dad actually married my husband and I), had a softball game really close to where we live.  We decided to stop by and watch the game, gather a bite to eat with them afterwards and enjoy some much needed catch-up time.

It's days like these that I love where we live (amongst many other days).  The sun was setting over the green hills and a simple jacket was all you needed to stay warm.

The girls won their game.  But of course, they are amazing athletes and HARD CORE.  Those skinny little blondes could kick some serious bootay, and yet are still the sweetest little things.  I want to keep them.  Don't tell their mom.  I wish I had a picture for you, but I was too busy enjoying that family.

After time with them, my husband said that he wanted to drive somewhere with a nice view and just spend some time talking.

Wonderful.

That's all I wanted.

We drove up a hill where we could see the city's lights and found a nice little parking spot.

Then came a wonderful surprise.

He pulled out my favorite ice cream:  Haagen-Dazs Caramel Cone.  It's a rare gem in this town.  You can really only find it at one grocery store and at some 7-Elevens.  That one grocery store is closing down, too.  He had to bike across town after work to get it (you know since we only have one car and everything now).

He had two spoons and we sat there, enjoyed the view, enjoyed the ice cream, and best of all, the company.

It's amazing how you can live with someone, spend tons of time together, and do everything together, but still the best moments in life are when it's just you two, talking or sitting quietly together and remembering how much you love that person.

It felt like we were dating.  You know when you have a billion roommates and the only place to get alone is in your car before they drop you off?  Only this time, we got to go home together.  For more time to ourselves.

Life is good.

I love you, husband!
