{Why I Tell You About Date Night}
Remember when I told you about husband and I's new plan for date nights? We wanted to revamp them and make them more intentional. We wanted there to be at least one night each week that we would put all distractions aside and really listen to the other's needs. They would be a chance to reconnect and really show how much we love each other. Well, they have been wonderful. We have been more creative and have made sure to do them each week. But today, I want to tell you why exactly I like to share them here, on my blog, with you, because I don't just blab for no reason (ok, well sometimes I do), but this time, I have just a few reasons...
1. Accountability. Prior to our "new" date nights, we would sometimes forget to schedule them in during the week and by the time we remembered, there wasn't any space left in our calendar. Knowing that it is something that I want to be able to share with others, inspires me to make sure each week that we schedule it in before the craziness of the week sets in.
2. Creativity. Let's face it, it would be super lame to blog about going out to dinner each week. By sharing it on my blog, I know I have to get creative so that A. I don't get bored writing about the exact same thing each week and B. You don't get bored reading about the same exact thing each week. Knowing that I want to write about it each week, makes me want to get more creative, thus making our date nights way more fun! Just keepin' it fresh, ya know? (Wow.)
3. Inspiration. Lastly, I want to inspire you to be more intentional and more creative with your loved one. Date nights are important. Some people say they are a huge reason couples stay together. I want to inspire you to make date night a priority in your marriage.
And not all date nights are going to be super fancy. Sometimes they will be a short evening at a coffee shop just talking and people watching. But whatever it is, I know I will leave it loving my husband even more and knowing that I am loved deeply.
