...On Bedtime.

A couple we know and respect told us before we got married to try and go to bed together each night.

We've been doing just that and I believe it has made a big impact on our marriage.  Sometimes it requires one person staying up a little later, and sometimes it requires going to bed a little earlier, either way, it's been worth it.

It keeps us on the same schedule.  It encourages us to read together each night.  It allows for some great pillow talk.  And it is the best way to end each day.

As long as we can, we're going to keep making this a priority.

We know that someday we may not have a schedule that allows for this, but for now, we do.

And as long as we do, we're going to go to bed together each night.

We're not just "in the phase where we go to bed at the same time each night," we intentionally go to bed together each night.

And we're going to keep doing it.  It's as simple as that.

This is day 12 of the series "31 Days on becoming a new wife."  I hope you'll journey with me as I reflect on my first year as a Mrs!  Click on the button to see a list of the rest of the posts.

  1. This is great advice. My husband could never understand the logic in it. My parents have gone to bed at the same time as long as I can remember. They have been married 42 years.

  2. That's wonderful! What a great example for you guys. And I heard somewhere that couples that do this end up having better sex lives...maybe you could pitch that to your husband! ;)
