{Date Night Last Night}
I haven't shared about a date night in a really long time, it seems. I know it's mainly because we haven't been doing them regularly the past few weeks and we have no excuse.
This one was much needed and whenever we have a date night, we always remember why they are so important and vital to our marriage.
Since it has been a time of rest for us, we decided to light the fire for the first time this season.
It was magical.
I'm not a huge winter person. I hate being cold and I just love everything about summer, but it's times like these that rectify the wintery weather; the times that you get to be nice and warm under a favorite fuzzy blanket, hold some piping hot chocolate in your hands and let the fire mesmerize you with its flames.
But the best part of it all was, of course, being able to enjoy this with husband and snuggle up next to him. Marriage is the best.
We spent the whole evening there. We stared at the fire, talked about what we want for Christmas, played a game of cribbage, refilled our marshmallows in our hot chocolate once they dissolved, and enjoyed being warm when it was so cold outside.
It was the date night that felt like Christmas. It's not even Thanksgiving and I'm totally ok with that.
Now, my only question is how far into your marriage can you use a "Just Married" sign as decor?
Totally the same way...hate the cold, but I love the magic of Christmas. As for the decor, I say keep it out always to remember to treat each other with the total excitement of that first week (: I'd love to be able to say, we've been married for 50yrs, but everyday it feels just as wonderful as the first.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!! You have a fireplace?! When Dave and I have gone up to the mountains, for our honeymoon and vacation, that is one of our favorite things to do! Watch the fire, snuggle, drink hot chocolate! It's like watching a movie, but so much better. Glad you share in this love as well :) As for the "Just Married" decor, at one point you were "just" married, so it definitely represents something true forever, right?? OR always keep a photo of you two when you were just married with that sign and it will represent that time in your life :)
