Can you spot the husband? (In our almost empty apartment...ah!) |
The other day husband decided to be funny and read one of my blog posts out loud. He actually reads all of my posts because he's super supportive and loving like that, but this particular day, he thought he would read this post out loud in various voices.
He was doing a wonderful job, using every possible voice he could think of on the spot until he got about halfway, when the paragraph ended with one of my favorite words...
"Holla"
Now, for those of you who read my blog, how do you read this word? Because when my husband decided to read it out loud by saying, "hola," as in, the Spanish word for "hello," I started cracking up.
"Husband, it's 'holla' not 'hola.'"
Pronounced: Holl-uhh.
You know, it's the more hip way of saying "holler" (because I'm super hip, duh)...
Holla not hola.
Did you get that?
Were you always confused on why I wanted to say hello in Spanish mid posts? Because I wanted to make sure that you understood what I was actually saying because I tend to use that word quite often.
But now you know, friends. High five for making things make more sense! Holla!
Thanks for making me laugh every day of our lives, husband. You make life so much better!
Again, I'm not trying to speak Spanish. Please don't read it as "Hola!"
hahaha, I love this. I totally read it like Bart, the hip way. Glad you clarified :) Also, the way you refer to Bart as Husband throughout your post reminded me of gilmore girls- how Rory's friend always referred to her boyfriend as Boyfriend :) haha, love it!
ReplyDeleteha! You mean you read it the NON hip way??? That's so funny! I had no idea people thought I was trying to speak Spanish. Nope! Just want to say Holler! :)
