Twinkle Twinkle Little Star First Birthday

This time of year is so busy.  Everyone is busy and every day, including weeknights, seem to be packed with things to do.  I'm striving for peace this season even though it's been one of the busiest yet, and I feel like this past weekend was just that for me.

We stayed home Friday night (yes!).

We had a slow Saturday morning together (yes!).

Then we headed out of town (per usual) to visit some friends whose adorable babe was turning one.

The best part about this was that these are friends that bring me rest.  We became good friends with them our first year of marriage, we lived with them for 2 weeks before moving back to the Bay Area, and we just stinking love them.  It's been so fun to watch my friend become a mama and fully embrace this new life with her girl.  I only wish I could see them more - but I'm so grateful for Instagram, texting and FaceTime!

On Sunday, she threw an adorable "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" party for Hadley Rae...Emily is not only an amazing mother, but incredibly creative, thoughtful, loving and a GREAT cook.  This party was perfect for a one year old.  Simple and sweet.

Sorry for the horrible scan...next time I'll just take a photo of the invite.
We love you so very much, Hadley-b-tuna!  Happy Birthday!
