It is hard work and plain exhausting and doing it pregnant is even more so!
Fortunately, husband's been a rockstar and doing a LOT of the work, if not most, and we've been able to really get settled in such a short period of time (hens the lack of posts on here).
The past month has consisted of trips to Home Depot and Orchard Supply Hardware (meaning we get Charleston Chews and Paydays for our hard work), husband doing the measuring, lifting and all the rest while I 'supervise', and many, many sporadic naps.
We've had some things delay the settling process like a shower leak that flooded our kitchen and not having any window coverings with the sun BEATING down into our house, but everything is coming together and we're really happy and thankful for our new home.
It's been fun to re-decorate with our old stuff as well as get new things. The bouquet husband gave me when he proposed was starting to look really sad, so I stripped the leaves, trimmed the stems, and now they sit in a cute little galvanized bucket.
My urge to nest and excitement for baby gave me enough motivation and energy to paint the nursery (with the help of a dear friend!), as well as finish up the changing table/dresser that took FOR.EV.ER.
But alas...we're finally feeling settled and done and it feels so good! I even finished the nursery and will hopefully post some photos of it here, soon. The OCD in me wants to wait until I receive one more item that will finish off the room so you can get the whole package...but that won't be till after baby comes, so we'll see!
Husband has been in full on nesting mode...more so than me! I feel like I went a million miles an hour for the first month of living here and trying to get everything done while he was more realistic about things...and now while I sit on the couch and elevate my feet hoping the swelling goes down, he's starting these crazy huge projects the week before our due date and ROCKIN' it. Like this side yard project...this was a project we assumed wouldn't happen until after baby's arrival, but here we are, 3 days till our due date and he's almost done. Booyah!
I'm pretty pumped about our living space and I'm getting even more excited an anxious to bring our little one home to it...I'm sure he's going to be our favorite addition!
I'm exhausted from moving and I'm not pregnant, so I can only imagine how you must feel! The house looks awesome - I'm loving the dresser - it is GORGEOUS! Shelby still hasn't completely adjusted yet, but hopefully when I get the rest of my furniture in this weekend she will start to chill out. The countdown is on to baby boy! Yay!
