He's good.
His compliments have really encouraged me during this first year of marriage.
Learning to become a wife has been full of new things and having a husband to compliment the things I do or the way I look has been a wonderful part of marriage.
Simple compliments go a long way.
I can see his chest puff up when I let him know his arms look extra muscular today or that his beard looks amazing (because it does every day).
We aren't living for compliments from each other, we don't do things necessarily for the compliment, but receiving them definitely encourages me to do more things for him!
I went out of town this weekend for some quality girl time and decided I wanted to leave him with some cookies.
A couple problems: I had no butter or eggs. Being that I'm just a tad more comfortable in the kitchen now, I found a recipe online, adapted it a bit to what I could do, and bam! Cookies were coming out of the oven for hubby.
I was nervous that the lack of butter wouldn't make them taste that good, but husband really liked them! He said I could always use this recipe if I wanted to. Sawwweeeet! His compliments left me with a smile for the weekend.
And since it's Tuesday, I'll share the recipe with you, too! Enjoy them, my friends. :)
No Butter or Eggs Chocolate Chip Cookies
What You'll Need:
2 cups unbleached flour
2 tsps baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
cinnamon to taste
2 tsps baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
cinnamon to taste
Chocolate chips (however many you would like)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup canola or vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup water
Preheat your oven to 350*. Place your cookie sheets in the oven so they will preheat as well.
In a large bowl mix flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Add chocolate chips.
In a medium size bowl, mix sugar and oil well. Add the vanilla and then add the water. Add the dry ingredients and mix it well, but be careful not to overwork it. Add more chips if you need to.

Spoon onto
ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 5 minutes and
then flip and rotate the sheets (top to bottom, and 180* rotation).
Bake another 4 minutes and check them (I needed just a couple extra
minutes and they were still gooey).
