I have no doubt that today is called Good Friday because we constantly need to be reminded that God is indeed good, all the time. He is good when we have lost all hope, He is good when we feel like we have no more strength, and He is good when we have lost.
I need to be reminded of this often. It's not easy to remember that no matter what happens, God is still good. In tragedy, broken hearts, rejection, pain, devastation, loneliness, He is good. He is good because He is perfect. He is good because He is bigger than this world. He is bigger than our lives and He is more.
It's no doubt that today is called Good Friday. How could we believe that giving up your only son to die is good? Because He is good and because 'He loved the world, He gave His one and only son, that whosoever believes will not die, but have eternal life.' Because He gave His son, we can live. Because of this tragedy, we have hope. Because of this devastation, we have a chance. Because of this sacrifice, we have life.
God is good. All the time.
Today we remember the death of His son, and we remember this day as good.
Our God is good, no matter what this life brings us.
My God is good all the time. I will choose to believe this every day.
"Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends."
John 15:13
